The Fritz Walter Stadium, which belongs to the most beautiful arenas of Germany, was renovated at the beginning of the 90's. This heart of the Kaiserslautern sports will provide 48,500 seats for the Soccer World Cup in 2006. The soccer club 1. Kaiserslauterer Fußballclub (1.FCK) has approx. 10,500 members. The sports park "Rote Teufel" [Red Devils] on the outskirts of the city is a center for prospective young soccer players at the highest stage.
